48 Hour Marathon #3 -- Hour 19

Let's start with the stats...

Hours:
19
Reading Time: 6
Books Read: 1 & 1/2
Blog Post/Reviews: 4 posts (including this one) & 1 review
Blogging/Twittering: 5
Working Online Job: 3

Wow, when you break it down, it makes me feel like a real flake! This is my first "marathon" of any type, and it's a lot harder to focus solely on the reading than I thought. Things keep interrupting! I actually got about 3 1/2 hours of reading in before I crashed last night. Right now I'm reading The Inheritance of Loss, by Kiran Desai. It's such a dense read, but SO good. I thought I'd need to break it up with other things, but I haven't wanted to. It pulls my "numbers" down little because it's not a quick read, but a good one! It also counts towards my 1% well read challenge, which is excellent. Right now, I'm on page 147, which is about half way through.

  1. Eating out is way to easy for a single person! Why cook for one person? Not fun. But I did pretty well this week. Hopefully next week I can keep up the good work. I love reading your updates and following you on Twitter. :) Maybe someday I will participate in a read-a-thon. Sounds like fun.

  2. I think you're doing great! I can barely sit through a two-hour movie, so I'm impressed that you've managed to read for 19 hours straight-ish. And I'm jealous that you got to read on the beach. :)

  4. You're doing really great! Dewey's Readathon in April was my first reading marathon and I learned a lot from it- Smaller books that you will finish make you feel like you accomplished more, even if it is the same number of pages read. -Don't read in a bookstore. I was trying to read everything in the store! I wanted a fresh location but I should have known my ADD brain could not handle a bookstore! -The most important part is the participation and being in on it with fellow book lovers!

    You're doing really great!
