24 Hour Readathon: First Four Hours

Welcome! I'm getting ready to get off and running with my readathon goals, and although I'm getting a later start than most, I'm excited about what I have to read! I apologize for being a big whiner in my last post; it was evidence of the end of term at the school I teach at & my desire to crawl into bed and "forget about it." :) I did, however, get all but five essays graded last night. That alone has me excited and proud of myself! Having said that, and after a wonderful night's sleep, I'm so excited to dive into my reading now!

Here's what I've done so far and my plans:
  • I got up and had some Ezekiel Bread with raspberry jam for breakfast...YUM. (If you haven't tried Ezekiel Bread, I HIGHLY recommend it. It's an organic, whole grain bread that I just happen to really like because it's so crunchy and healthy. You can generally find it in the freezer section of your local grocery store.)
  • I mixed up one of my favorite "I've got a cold/flu/stomach ache" drinks: 2 c. crushed ice, 1 can of Diet Sprite, and 1 cup of 100% Concord Grape Juice. Yea, not any big miracle drink or amazing concoction, but I love it!
  • My stack of books. I'm going to go finish Prada and Prejudice, which I'm about half way through already, and then I might bounce around from book to book for a little bit.
Well, that's where I'm at so far. I don't want to overload the feeds (as mentioned by lots of other readathoners), so I think I'll just stop back in later this afternoon or evening. I will, however, be stopping into Twitter to update where I'm at. You can follow me here: mjmbecky on Twitter.

Happy reading!
