Giveaway: A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans

This is my first, official book giveaway! I read A Hopeless Romantic earlier this year (here's the link to that review) and LOVED IT so much that I had to have a keeper copy. Having said that, back in February I ordered a copy for myself, and as a gift to give my friend Doc. Well, after a MAJOR UPS debauchle, I ended up with three copies. I decided awhile ago that I would give this extra copy away, but wanted to wait to do it as a celebration of my students taking the AP exam next week on May 7th. I know that seems silly to many of you, but to me, it's consuming my waking days and nights! (Yes, I've started dreaming about it.)

Anyway, in celebration of my students finishing up and taking the AP test next week, I'm going to give away my extra copy of the novel. On Sunday, May 10th, the giveaway will close at midnight MST. Sorry, only resident of the U.S. and Canada at this time.

P.S. A high school test that gave me nightmares....definitely my math final. I was a "D" student in math, every year. :(

  2. Thanks for the chance to win. Pretty much any Geography test I had to take gave me nightmares--that teacher would have multiple choice, usually with A - J (or so)possible answers, including 2 of the above, 3 of the above, etc. It was horrible.

And I just became a follower, yay!

  4. Well, I took easy classes in high school, so I don't really remember stressing out about any tests. So does this count? I had a nightmare this year that it was the UBSCT and one of my students was talking through the whole thing. So, in my dream, I hauled off and slapped him. I immediately felt really bad, and then I woke up and felt even worse because I had slapped my husband in reality. Really hard!

  5. Congratulations on surviving to the AP exam!

I took 10 AP exams throughout high school, but he one that inspired the most dreams was the AP Spanish exam. I had the wackiest dreams in Spanish. Even after the exam, I had nightmares about all the things I did wrong.

~Hi. I really had to think back about a hs test that gave me nightmares :) I would say it was the Latin semester finals. Just so much to remember. Chemistry also comes to mind. I had to work so hard for less than "AP-like grades.

Thanks for the giveaway. This title has been on my TBR list for a while.

  10. A microbiology exam-the names of all the little microbes sounded exactly the same to me and I could never recall which ones stained purple under a microscope.

  14. My nightmare came in journalism class while I was taking a test. The teacher stepped out of the room for a moment, and while she was out, I took a big bite of an apple I had saved from lunch. She came back into the room just in time to catch me chewing, and gave me a big fat F on the exam!!!!!!

I'm also a follower of your blog.

  17. In general, I did well on academic tests. I would say the hardest test for me was the end of the year typing test.

  20. Congrats on your fist contest. One test I always dreaded was in geometry. The teacher would describe the figure and from what I could gather it turned out to look like a giraffe but the teacher insisted it was supposed to be a rhomboid or a trapezoid or some other oid. Who knew?

  21. I'm so sorry about my Latin finals in high school - I failed them, the only subject of about 6 or 7. I still love English, but Latin still flummoxes me!

  24. There's actually two tests that gave me nightmares. The first was my senior year in high school. I had to take a bunch of AP finals, but the worst was the AP Calculus final. I was/am good at math, but not the greatest standardized test taker. So that was awful.

The second was my chemistry final in my first freshman semester in college. I hate chemistry, so it was already bad enough. But the chemistry department is one of the hardest departments at the university I attended, so it was completely horrible.
